Your role in the Team’s Success
The Credit Operations Lead will lead a team overseeing credit risk management for IG. The role combines hands-on credit assessment with team leadership, ensuring regulatory compliance and operational excellence across client categorisation, margin management, and debt recovery.
Key Responsibilities
What you’ll need for this role
Margin Call Management & Debt Recovery
- Monitor client margin levels and implement efficient margin call processes
- Ensure liquidation of accounts when margin requirements are not met
- Manage debt recovery strategies using analytics and collection methodologies
- Coordinate with legal teams for formal debt recovery procedures when required
Credit Risk Assessment & Management
- Set and review credit limits based on financial analysis and risk tolerance
- Execute 1st line credit risk monitoring
- Collaborate with technology teams to enhance credit monitoring systems and automation
Team Leadership & Operations Management
- Lead and manage a team of 3
- Collaborate with key stakeholders including divisions, trading, technology, and compliance
- Establish and monitor performance metrics for team members and credit operations effectiveness
Professional Client Categorisation & Regulatory Compliance
- Oversee assessment of clients as retail, professional, or eligible counterparties. Ensuring quality is monitored and maintained.
- Ensure documentation and evidence gathering to support categorisation decisions
- Coordinate with compliance and legal teams on regulatory changes
Margin Call Management & Debt Recovery
- Monitor client margin levels and exceute margin call processes
- Ensure position liquidation when margin requirements are not met
- Manage debt recovery strategies using analytics and collection methodologies
- Coordinate with legal teams for formal debt recovery procedures when required
Process Improvement & Team Development
- Identify opportunities for operational efficiency and process optimisation
- Lead implementation of automated/AI solutions to streamline workflows
- Manage and develop team through regular performance reviews and training
- Foster collaborative team culture focused on continuous improvement
Qualifications
Experience
- 3+ years of experience in an operational role within financial services
- Proven track record in driving efficiency within operational roles
- Experience with CFD, forex, derivatives, or other leveraged trading products preferred
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of MiFID II client categorisation requirements and regulatory frameworks
- Knowledge of margin, leveraged trading products, and associated risk management
- Excellent data analytic skills inc experience in BI, SQL, Tableau.
- Understanding of FCA regulations, client money requirements, and conduct risk management
