Overall purpose of the role:

To provide support for Portfolio Manager in first level credit risk analysis and portfolio management.

To develop your analytical skills and product knowledge.

Main responsibilities and duties of the role:

As an intern reporting to a senior analyst, you will be involved in supporting various aspects of credit risk management for a diverse portfolio of counterparties trading with us.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting in the initial and ongoing assessment of the creditworthiness of counterparties through financial analysis & internal credit scoring.
• Providing support in making recommendations on the size and tenor of credit limits for approval.
• Assisting in performing annual credit reviews for counterparties in the assigned portfolio, esp. in the commodities sector.
• Building and maintaining strong working relationships with internal stakeholders in the business, coverage, legal, middle office, and risk.
• Assisting in regular portfolio analysis, monitoring, and reporting.

Responsible for producing:

• Draft credit analyses.
• Portfolio reports.
• Portfolio data.

Responsible for reviewing:

• London portfolio reports - Corporate, Real Assets, and Asset & Structured Finance

JOB REQUIREMENTS - KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Key skills, experience and personal attributes required (include problem solving aspects):

• Degree qualified or currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Familiarity with accounting and/or financial statements is advantageous.
• Proficiency in English.
