We are seeking motivated, dedicated, non-judgemental crisis workers to provide on-call, out of hours cover for the forensic service at your base Haven. This will be within a travel distance of 60 minutes from being called. You will be PAN Haven therefore may be required to attend from time to time, one of the other Havens to ensure rota cover when service cover is required. You will assist with the management process of victims (women, men and children) attending the Havens, providing sensitive and empowering advocacy support, while assisting the Sexual offences Examiner during the examination and collecting of forensic evidence.
You are required to be a qualified nurse, counsellor or social worker with a relevant degree/diploma qualification and can demonstrate recent work experience within sexual health, family planning or a related health/social care field. Excellent communication skills and an understanding of the impact of serious sexual assault are required. As part of your contract, you are expected to work a minimum of three shift patterns per month. These patterns will include a combination of weeknights, weekend days, or weekend nights. Additionally, one bank holiday shift is required each year.
The normal shift patterns are as follows;
Weekends and Bank Holidays
Saturday, days 09:00 – 23:00 (09:00-17 and 17:00-23:00)
Saturday, nights 23:00 – 09:00
Sunday, days 09:00 – 23:00 (09:00-17 and 17:00-23:00)
Sunday/Bank Holiday, nights 23:00 – 05:00
These shift time are currently under review.
The Haven sites are based in Camberwell, Whitechapel and St Charles Hospital
You must be able to arrive at the Haven within one hour of being called.
