Permanent Full Time (35 hours per week) £ 5 5,3 94 per annum
A vacancy has arisen within the Faculty of Education & Humanities for a Curriculum Head in our ESOL team. City of Glasgow College deliver a range of ESOL pathways for a diverse group of learners.
Working with the Associate Dean, alongside two other ESOL Curriculum Heads, the successful candidate will lead and manage the development of the ESOL curriculum area to ensure that the delivery of learning and teaching is of the highest standard and responsive to the needs of the students. You will manage and develop the curriculum offer in line with the Colleges strategic direction, ensuring that coherent academic guidance systems are in place and that the curriculum has the flexibility to attract diverse funding streams.
You will hold a relevant degree and/or appropriate professional qualification along with a full teaching qualification (TQFE or equivalent). As this position is subject specific, having DipTESOL / DELTA is particularly relevant to this role. Previous experience of the direct management of ESOL/EFL curriculum delivery and development including the effective development, deployment and management of staff is desirable. You will be able to evidence creative and innovative methods of learning and teaching and a contribution to wider organisational aims i.e. recruitment/retention, employability skills development and securing diverse sources of funding.
The successful candidate will have good IT skills, strong communication skills both written and verbal, be confident in decision-making with the ability to assess and present complex information clearly and effectively.
