Curriculum Head Supported Education Programmes Permanent Full Time , 1 FTE ( 35 hours) Salary: £ 5 5 ,394 per annum pro rata
A vacancy has arisen within the Faculty of Education & Humanities for a Curriculum Head in our Supported Education programmes team. City of Glasgow College deliver a range of personal and social development programmes to young adult learners with additional support needs and/or Autistic Spectrum Diagnosis.
Working alongside the Associate Dean, the successful candidate will lead and manage the development of the Supported Education Programmes curriculum area to ensure that the delivery of learning and teaching is of the highest standard and responsive to the needs of the students. You will manage and develop the curriculum offer in line with the Colleges strategic direction, ensuring that coherent academic guidance systems are in place.
The Curriculum Head will be responsible for leading a team of lecturers and support staff who provide learning, teaching and support to students with a range of complex needs. You are required to be a highly motivated and responsive individual who has experience of working within a team dedicated to safeguarding and supervising vulnerable groups and individuals. In addition to leading the team, the successful candidate will have teaching responsibility in this area including the preparation and delivery of lessons, assessment and marking of students work.
You will hold a relevant degree and/or appropriate professional qualification along with a full teaching qualification (TQFE or equivalent). You will have a broad demonstrable experience of supporting and working with young adults with additional support needs within an educational environment. You will be able to evidence creative and innovative methods of learning and teaching and a contribution to wider organisational aims including student recruitment and retention.
The successful candidate will have good IT skills, strong communication skills both written and verbal, be confident in decision-making with the ability to assess and present complex information clearly and effectively.
