What’s the role?
The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for all enquires which are handled by the Customer Service Centre via telephone and any front facing services as required.
The following are some of the services we handle enquiries for:
- Council Switchboard
- Registration (Births, Deaths, Marriages and Civil Partnerships, Citizenship)
- Housing Services (Housing Needs, Housing Repairs, Housing & Communities)
- Environmental Services (Pest control, Lumber & Mattress collection, Recycling & Domestic Refuse, Highways, Animal Welfare, Trees, Cleansing and abandoned vehicles)
- Skips & Scaffolding Licenses
- Planning Services (General Enquiries, Booking Site Inspections & Appointments and taking payments)
- BSL (British Sign Language)
- Social Media (Hootsuite) – LBL X (formerly known as Twitter) account

What we’re looking for:
We are seeking to recruit a part time Customer Service Centre Officer across the following days/hours:
Monday 09:00-13:00
Tuesday 09:00-13:00
Wednesday 09:00-13:00
We are looking for someone with a passion for customer service, who can work as part of a team and who has direct experience of working in a fast paced multi-service contact centre.
You will have an appetite for resolving customer enquires through to completion ensuring that all issues are dealt with efficiently and effectively.
You will have a proven track record of service knowledge relating to Council Housing Services, Registration Services, Environmental Services, Highways, Garden Waste and other services which may be directed to the Call centre. Be part of a team which facilitates a digital assistance front line service to enable all residence to access online services

Location
The job is primarily based in Laurence House, but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis.

Salary
£33,780 - £34,779 per annum pro rata (SC5)
N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale), which is subject to evidential proof.
