Customer Technical Service
Location: Remote
Salary: Competitive based on experience.
Position Summary
This position is responsible to meet the goals and objectives of the organisation by meeting ProAmpac company objectives.
The function of Customer Technical Service is to manage customers' technical issues related to products and materials. The individual will provide ongoing onsite and/or virtual customer support and proactively manage product quality. This position will work with Sales, Quality, Operations and Product Development to improve service and grow relationships with customers.
Essential Duties and Tasks
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily. The successful candidate will
- Know and follow all safety policies and procedures. Ensure that co-workers are also following safety rules.
- Support Revenue Growth and Business Opportunities by providing on site Customer technical expertise and solutions, to ProAmpac sites internally, and externally to our customer base who decrease waste, improve functionality, runnability, and offer solutions from evaluating & analysing Customer operations while aligning to ProAmpac functionality.
- Provide onsite and virtual technical assistance to customers for existing products through regular travel within the UK and Ireland and travel to other regions as required.
- Have a proactive understanding of changes in the packaging machinery and materials industry, staying up to date with changing technology.
- Establish, manage & maintain packaging machinery and material vendor relationships and leverage those relationships when required with customers.
- Collaborate with R&D, Sales, Operations, and Quality departments to drive growth with our customers
- Demonstrate an appropriate attitude in all dealings with coworkers, customers, and suppliers.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited University in engineering or science discipline and/or 5+ years in a technical flexible packaging role.
- Product, industry and organisational specific knowledge, hands on machine experience
- Solid trouble shooting/problem solving skills. Technically apt and knows how to leverage technology
- Strong leadership and persuasive communication skills
- Excellent written and oral communication, ability to communicate effectively (with executive leadership, staff, and internal and external clients.)
- Willingness to travel, up to 100% of time with ability to access air travel within reasonable time. Travel mainly but not exclusively within Ireland and the UK.
- Multilingual capabilities are highly preferred.
- Coaching and mentoring skills, people development capabilities
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), and Outlook email and calendar capabilities.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and protect privacy of confidential/sensitive information.
- Exceptional time management and organisation skills. The ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously by establishing priorities to meet deadlines.
- Proactive; exercises sound judgment and decision making; able to identify problems and needs and develop solutions and/or options.
