Customs Clearing Agent (Night Shift)
£29,700 per annum plus £77.50 per week night allowance, 22.5 days annual leave plus bank holidays

At the Parcelforce International Hub, we screen parcels before they’re exported across Europe and beyond, and handle customs clearance for imported items destined for delivery across the UK. Our Central Clearance Bureau (CCB) is at the core of this operation—ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency every step of the way
We’re currently looking for a
Customs Agent to join our dedicated CCB team and support our essential customs and compliance processes.
The role
As a Customs Agent, you will help facilitate and maintain a fully compliant, effective, and efficient commercial import & export service within defined time frames. You will:
- Submit accurate customs declarations in line with customs and company policies.
- Verify, enter and update data in customs and internal systems, ensuring accuracy, precision and compliance.
- Maintain detailed customs and company records and reports, demonstrating due diligence in all regulatory matters.
- Deliver excellent customer service, resolving customs queries efficiently and professionally.
- Work to HMRC requirements to ensure the timely recovery of incorrect Customs Clearance entries, reporting any discrepancies or deviations to regulatory requirements.
Attendance (nights) 21.30 – 05.30 Monday and 22.00-05.30 Tuesday – Friday.
About You
To be successful in this role, you’ll need to demonstrate the following skills and experience on your CV:
- At least 6 months’ experience in a commercial customs environment, with in-depth knowledge of transit document preparation to include GMR, PPM, TDOCS (essential)
- In depth understanding of import/export customs processes, operational pipelines, and logistics products.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, and the ability to confidently communicate via email.
- A proactive, enthusiastic approach with the ability to work under pressure, both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build strong working relationships internally and externally.
