What Will You Be Doing

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Cyber Security Apprentice to join our team. This apprenticeship is designed to provide hands-on experience in cyber security, helping you build a strong foundation in protecting digital assets and managing security operations within the payments industry.

You will work alongside experienced cyber security professionals, gaining real-world experience in areas such as threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, and compliance.

Be Responsible For And Deliver

  • Assist in monitoring and responding to security alerts and incidents.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of security tools such as SIEM, endpoint protection, and vulnerability scanners.
  • Help conduct regular security assessments and audits.
  • Learn to identify and mitigate cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Assist in managing identity and access controls, including MFA and privileged access.
  • Participate in security awareness training initiatives and phishing simulations.
  • Support compliance efforts with industry standards such as ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, and GDPR.
  • Document security processes, incidents, and remediation steps.
  • Collaborate with IT and development teams to ensure secure system configurations and deployments.

What would we like from you?

  • A keen interest in cyber security and protecting digital systems.
  • Basic understanding of networking, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and common security concepts.
  • Familiarity with security tools or platforms (e.g., antivirus, firewalls, SIEM) is a plus.
  • Awareness of cyber threats such as phishing, malware, and ransomware.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

It would be great if you have the following

  • Previous experience in IT support or a technical environment.
  • Knowledge of scripting or automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python) is a plus.
  • Awareness of security frameworks or certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP, NIST).
