Key Responsibilities Main Purpose of Job:

As part of IT Operations, the Cyber Security Engineer (L2) is responsible for supporting Immunocore’s cyber security operations and contributing to the implementation and maintenance of security controls and processes. This is a hands-on technical role, working with Cisco’s security suite and other security tools to help protect our digital assets and employees from cyber threats.

The role involves monitoring security systems, responding to incidents, assisting with risk assessments, and supporting compliance efforts. The Cyber Security Engineer (L2) will collaborate with other teams to promote security awareness and best practices and will stay informed about current cyber security trends and technologies to help address vulnerabilities and improve Immunocore’s security posture.

This position will assist in the operation and improvement of our security framework and security management systems in a hybrid environment, including cloud and on-premises systems. The role requires a passion for technical skills within our Cisco security products and a proactive approach to maintaining and enhancing infrastructure security operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Security Operations and Support

 Monitor and respond to security alerts and incidents, escalating as necessary.

 Assist in the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of security infrastructure and products across on-premises, Azure, and AWS environments.

 Support the implementation of security policies, procedures, and technical controls.

 Participate in vulnerability assessments and risk analysis activities, including addressing and patching.

 Help maintain and update technical documentation, including system configurations and operational procedures.

 Contribute to compliance efforts by following established processes and supporting audits as required.

 Collaborate with IT teams to resolve security-related technical issues and provide input on security best practices.

 Participate in on-call rotations as required, providing timely response to incidents.

Continuous Improvement

 Participate in on-call rotations as required, providing timely response to incidents.

 Identify opportunities to improve security operations and processes.

 Stay current with cyber security trends, threats, and technologies relevant to Immunocore’s environment.

Documentation and Compliance

 Revise our IT policies and procedures as needed to ensure we uphold a strong and compliant security posture.

 Creating and maintaining our technical documentation, including system configurations, diagrams, and operational procedures. Ensuring infrastructure, security or application components comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.

 Help ensure Immunocore adheres to robust and efficient Change Management processes for the environment, contributing to improving these where necessary.

 Collaborate with the IT Service Desk Manager and team on technical tasks. Be ready to assist with resolving tickets during high volumes or overwhelming demand, demonstrating a team-oriented approach.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This role does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.

Education, Experience and Knowledge:

Essential Qualifications:

 2-4 years of experience in a cyber security role or Infrastructure engineering role.

 Cisco certified at a minimum of CCNA or equivalent level security certification.

 Experience with security infrastructure systems such endpoint protection, vulnerability scanners, and security tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

 Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology as a core component.

Other:

 Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

 Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

 Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
