The Role
This is a remote position open to candidates located anywhere in Canada
We are seeking a skilled Cybersecurity Consultant to support clients during active security incidents and help them strengthen their defences between events. This is a hands-on, client-facing role that involves evidence collection, forensic analysis, containment guidance, and clear communication of findings. The position is primarily remote within Canada, with occasional travel depending on case requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead or assist in incident response engagements from initial triage through to resolution, including timeline development and actionable recommendations.
- Acquire and preserve forensic images from endpoints, servers, removable media, and mobile devices, ensuring forensic integrity and chain of custody.
- Create triage images to filter out noise and highlight indicators of compromise, documenting relevant findings.
- Conduct forensic analysis across Linux, Windows, and macOS environments.
- Facilitate tabletop exercises with technical teams and leadership, capturing actions and follow-ups.
- Recommend practical improvements to controls, playbooks, and monitoring based on investigation outcomes.
- Participate in a regular on-call rotation, demonstrating strong time management and resilience under pressure.

Who You Are
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in cybersecurity, with direct involvement in incident response and digital forensics.
- Demonstrated ability to acquire forensically sound images and maintain chain of custody.
- Strong investigative skills in Linux environments, including process analysis, persistence mechanisms, log interpretation, and root-cause identification.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with recognised cybersecurity frameworks and practices (e.g., NIST CSF, CIS Controls).
- Proven ability to work under pressure and coordinate effectively with multiple stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as GCFA, GCFE, GCIH, CFCE, or equivalent experience.
- Experience working in OT, ICS, or SCADA environments.
- Knowledge of cloud security and Zero Trust architecture.
- Active L1/2/3 security clearance is highly preferred
