About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and adaptable Data Analyst to join our Researchfish team. This role is ideal for a candidate with a solid foundation in data analysis who is ready to take ownership of intermediate-level projects with minimal supervision. You will play a key role in ensuring data quality, generating actionable insights, and supporting both internal stakeholders and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Develop a strong understanding of the Researchfish data model and related tools.
• Identify opportunities and risks in data quality and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Investigate data issues and recommend practical, effective solutions.
• Deliver clear, insightful analyses to support internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead or support the design and rollout of enhanced data tools and systems.
• Document and maintain data processes to ensure consistency and transparency.
• Follow established procedures for tracking and resolving data-related issues.
• Collaborate with the Chief Analyst and team members to share knowledge and support projects.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience working with SQL (e.g., MySQL, MS SQL, Snowflake).
• Strong understanding of relational databases and data analysis methods.
• Skilled in data extraction, transformation, and reporting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions.
• Effective communicator with clear documentation skills.
• Able to manage multiple priorities and adapt to change.
• Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Collaborative and relationship-oriented approach to working with stakeholders.
• Familiarity with research data ecosystem (e.g., Crossref, ORCID, Datacite, PubMed).
• Experience with Python, PHP, R, or equivalent programming languages
