Role Summary
We are seeking a skilled Data Analyst to join our team and assist in analysing data, generating insightful reports, and supporting decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical abilities, be proficient in data management and reporting tools, and have a keen eye for detail. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and deliver data-driven solutions that improve efficiency and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather and interpret data from various sources (databases, CRM systems, external
sources, etc.).
- Perform detailed data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and actionable insights.
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand business objectives and align analyses
with strategic goals.
- Act as a data champion to ensure data requirements are considered and effectively
met at all stages of the software development lifecycle.
- Influence and advocate data-led decision making within your team.
- Develop, design, and deliver regular and ad hoc reports and dashboards to visualise key metrics and insights for different departments (e.g., finance, marketing, sales,
operations).
- Automate reporting processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual efforts.
- Translate complex data into understandable and compelling reports tailored to nontechnical stakeholders.
- Work with data engineers to ensure your team’s data is timely, accurate and
accessible.
- Conduct regular audits and validation checks on datasets to ensure compliance with
data standards.
Technical & Soft Skills
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data analytics, statistics, or related field, and/or
significant experience in data analytics role; preferably both.
- Proven ability to deliver value through insights, reporting and analysis.
- Comfortable using SQL to retrieve, manipulate and filter data.
- Experience building interactive dashboards (preferably using Looker) that support decision making.
- Excellent communication skills; able to explain concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Knowledge of statistics and probability.
- Data intuition – an understanding of biases present in real-world data and strategies to deal with them.
Desirable:
- Experience within the customer service industry, retail energy, and/or a SaaS company.
- Python coding skills.
- Experience with Databricks.
- Knowledge of data engineering / ETL processes.
- Knowledge of experimental design, experience with a/b tests.
