About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Centre Engineer with 5+ years of hands-on experience to support, maintain, and optimise data centre infrastructure. This role involves working with physical and virtual systems to ensure high availability, performance, and security of data centre operations.

You will play a key role in maintaining mission-critical environments and supporting business continuity.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and maintain data centre infrastructure including servers, storage, and networking equipment
Perform installation, configuration, and decommissioning of hardware
Monitor data centre systems for performance, availability, and capacity
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, power, cooling, and connectivity issues
Support virtualisation platforms and hosted environments
Manage cabling, rack layouts, and data centre documentation
Ensure compliance with operational, security, and safety standards
Support backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes
Coordinate with vendors and service providers for maintenance and upgrades

Participate in incident response and root cause analysis

Required Skills & Qualifications

5+ years of experience in a Data Centre Engineer or Infrastructure role
Strong knowledge of server hardware (Dell, HPE, Cisco, or similar)
Experience with storage technologies (SAN, NAS)
Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (switching, routing, VLANs)
Experience with virtualisation platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar)
Knowledge of data centre operations including power, cooling, and cabling
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Ability to work independently in a 24/7 or shift-based environment (if applicable)

Preferred (Not Mandatory)

Experience with cloud or hybrid infrastructure environments
Familiarity with monitoring and management tools
Exposure to automation or scripting (PowerShell, Bash)
IT certifications (VMware, Cisco, Microsoft, CompTIA, or equivalent)
Experience working in enterprise or colocation data centres
