Role Overview
You will manage and improve HR data quality, support audits, lead HR projects, drive automation, and ensure compliance, especially around the SMCR (Senior Managers and Certification Regime). This role combines hands-on data management with strategic project delivery and process improvement.
Main Responsibilities
1. HR Data Management
- Ensure employee data is accurate, integrated, and compliant
- Run regular data audits and fix inconsistencies
- Maintain data entry standards
- Analyze internal and external survey and benchmarking data
2. Compliance & Audit
- Respond to audit findings and implement control frameworks
- Prepare reports for audits and ensure compliance with UK law
3. SMCR (Senior Managers & Certification Regime)
- Lead the annual SMCR re-certification process
- Coordinate with teams to gather and verify data
- Prepare and submit regulatory documents
4. Reporting & Analysis
- Build reports and dashboards to support HR and business decisions
- Partner with Finance on headcount and budget planning
- Support quarterly reviews and capacity planning
5. Payroll Controls
- Review monthly payroll files
- Manage IR35 compliance for external consultants
6. Project Management
- Lead and deliver HR projects from start to finish
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams
- Track timelines and keep stakeholders informed
7. Process Improvement & Automation
- Identify and implement process improvements using tools like Excel macros and Power Automate
- Recommend and deploy automation technologies
- Document and improve best practices
8. Data Governance
- Ensure GDPR and internal policy compliance
- Manage vendors (e.g., Edays, Moorepay)
- Train HR colleagues on data standards
Compliance
- FCA Conduct Rules Staff: Must act with integrity, diligence, fairness, and professionalism
- Follow compliance policies and relevant financial crime reporting rules
Skills & Experience
Required:
- 5+ years in HR data, reporting, or projects
- Strong Excel and numeracy skills
- HRIS experience
- Detail-oriented and analytical
- Strong communicator
- Able to balance strategic work and hands-on tasks
- Able to design and implement effective processes
Desirable:
- Experience in financial services (especially investment banking)
- Familiarity with SMCR
- CIPD or similar HR certification
