About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Data Engineer to join our Cloud Data Platforms team in London. This role is pivotal in driving the company's data and digital transformation initiatives by designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines and solutions on cloud platforms. As part of the Insights and Data Global Practice, you will work on a variety of projects across different sectors, utilizing the latest frameworks and technologies in AWS, Azure, and GCP. The role offers a hybrid working environment, combining office-based, client-site, and remote work to ensure flexibility and work-life balance. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating scalable data architectures, implementing ETL/ELT processes, and adopting DevOps practices to streamline data operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate data professional to contribute to innovative projects and develop their expertise in cloud-based data engineering.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with AWS tools including AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, Amazon Kinesis, Amazon EMR, Amazon Athena, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon CloudWatch, Amazon SNS, and AWS Step Functions.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, and Scala.
• In-depth knowledge of data storage technologies such as AWS Redshift, AWS RDS, Hadoop, and other Big Data ecosystems.
• Experience working with AWS Data Lakes on Amazon S3 to store and process structured and unstructured data sets.
• Understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and database design principles.
• Experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and automation tools.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to design innovative data solutions.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Relevant certifications in AWS or cloud data engineering are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, efficient, and secure data pipelines to facilitate data ingestion, processing, and transformation.
• Implement ETL/ELT workflows using open-source tools and AWS services to support data integration and analytics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical data solutions.
• Adopt DevOps methodologies to automate deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of data infrastructure.
• Maintain data quality, security, and compliance standards across all data platforms.
• Optimize data storage and processing solutions for performance and cost-efficiency.
• Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical documentation to ensure best practices.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in cloud data engineering and implement innovative solutions accordingly.
• Support data governance initiatives and ensure adherence to security policies and data privacy regulations.
