The Role
Our client is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to help scale our ESG analytics platform to the next level. This is a unique opportunity to blend data engineering, applied GenAI, and machine learning expertise in a small, highly collaborative team where your impact will be felt immediately.
What You'll Do
- Build scalable cloud-based data solutions supporting ESG analytics and products
- Develop and deploy production-grade GenAI systems including RAG systems, agentic workflows, and LLM-based tools
- Apply machine learning expertise to support model selection, feature design, and experimentation
- Lead technical direction by sharing knowledge, setting standards, and advancing our GenAI/ML stack
- Design and automate data pipelines for ESG KPIs, ratings, and forecasts
- Partner with ESG analysts and investment teams to transform complex data into actionable insights
- Re-engineer existing workflows to improve scalability and resilience
What You Bring
Essential:
- Strong Python (Pandas) and SQL skills (PostgreSQL preferred)
- Cloud experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure - AWS preferred)
- Proven experience deploying Generative AI systems (RAG, agents, LLM-based apps)
- 3+ years working with traditional ML models in production (regression, classification, time-series)
- Sharp analytical mind with excellent communication skills
- Comfort working in fast-paced, high-ownership environments
- Passion for sustainability and data-driven positive change
Bonus Points:
- Hands-on AWS experience (S3, ECS, RDS, Lambda, Step Functions)
- Familiarity with LangChain, Langfuse, LiteLLM, or similar LLM infrastructure tools
- Fullstack skills (Web Apps, React, OpenAPI, APIs)
- Experience with data governance, security, and quality at scale
- Experience mentoring junior engineers or running workshops
- Knowledge of ESG data or financial services
