About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Engineer to join our innovative team dedicated to advancing healthcare through artificial intelligence and machine learning. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining scalable data pipelines that support our cutting-edge research initiatives. Qualifications
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in data engineering or related fields.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, bioinformatics, life sciences, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL for data pipeline development.
- Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Strong understanding of modern data engineering tools such as Spark, BigQuery, Cloud Storage.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks like pytest.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies and practices.
- Hands-on experience with version control systems such as Git/GitHub.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices for deployment and continuous integration.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using modern engineering tools on Google Cloud, ensuring alignment with scientific and research needs.
- Implement high-quality, reliable software solutions following best practices, including automated testing and comprehensive documentation.
- Monitor and measure key metrics for data tools and services, iterating to enhance performance and reliability.
- Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and continuously improving personal and team standards.
- Collaborate with data scientists, bioinformaticians, and other technical teams to develop end-to-end data workflows and integrations.
- Ensure data security, compliance, and integrity throughout all stages of data processing.
