Data Engineer – Up to £52,000 + Hybrid (2 days/week in Birmingham)

Permanent | Hybrid | Midlands

An established UK organisation is looking for a Data Engineer to join its growing data function. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building robust data pipelines, improving data quality, and working across modern Microsoft technologies.

You’ll play a key part in ensuring data integrity and performance across CRM, SQL, and analytical systems—while contributing to large-scale data improvement and transformation initiatives.

The Role

As a Data Engineer, you will:

Build and maintain data pipelines across CRM, SQL, SharePoint, and analytical platforms using tools such as SSIS, Azure Data Factory, and KingswaySoft.
Optimise SQL database performance and troubleshoot data issues across multiple environments.
Manage reference data deployment, version control, and environment consistency.
Support bulk data operations, data imports, and quality fixes within CRM platforms.
Collaborate with Data Architects and BI teams to create scalable data models and reporting-ready structures.
Implement robust data security, audit controls, and compliance measures.
Document processes and support release management via Azure DevOps.

What We’re Looking For

Essential experience:

Strong T-SQL skills with query optimisation expertise.
Hands-on experience with SSIS, including complex package development.
Solid experience with Azure Data Factory and Azure SQL.
Good understanding of Dynamics 365 CRM data structures and customisation principles.
Knowledge of data modelling, ETL/ELT practices, and data warehousing concepts.
Ability to identify and resolve end-to-end data issues across interfaces, APIs, and CRM systems.
Experience working in Agile teams and using Azure DevOps.

Salary: Up to £52,000
Location: Birmingham (2 days per week on-site)
Mode: Hybrid, with flexibility around remaining remote days
