About the client:
We are partnering a global multi-asset trading platform in search for talented date engineers to be part of their innovative team as they expand their capabilities in data engineering! They are looking for multiple data engineers to design, build, and maintain the infrastructure necessary for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from various sources, including streaming data. You will also collaborate closely with data analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to deliver robust and scalable data solutions that drive our business forward.
About the role:
As a data engineer, you will be responsible for creating and optimizing data pipelines and architectures to meet both functional and non-functional business requirements. Your expertise will ensure the accuracy and reliability of our data processes, enabling us to harness the power of data effectively. Key responsibilities include:
- Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines and ETL processes that handle both batch and streaming data.
- Implement data acquisition processes, integrating data from various sources, including databases and public data APIs, using cloud tools and technologies.
- Build and maintain scalable data storage solutions, such as data warehouses, data lakes, and data streaming systems.
- Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and reliability through validation and error-handling processes; monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance.
- Identify and implement internal process improvements to enhance scalability, reliability, and optimization of our data infrastructure.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver appropriate solutions.
- Continuously evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to improve our data processing, storage, and analysis capabilities.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to ensure that our data engineering practices remain cutting-edge.
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role, focusing on building and optimizing data pipelines, including real-time and high-volume data pipelines.
- Strong hands-on experience with SQL and DBMS (e.g., MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL).
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and related services.
- Familiarity with big data processing tools like Spark is preferred.
- Experience with Databricks and analytical databases (ClickHouse) is highly desired.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Scala.
- Knowledge of CI/CD methodologies, cloud data warehousing concepts, and tools.
- Experience with streaming data platforms such as Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, AWS Kinesis, or similar.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
