The post reports directly to the Head of Educational Effectiveness with shared operational management by the Head of Performance & Strategy.
The Data Officer (Education) will lead on managing, analysing, and reporting data critical to education services, with a particular focus on statutory returns, alternative provision and inclusion and attendance data. This role will design and deliver reporting mechanisms to teams within the Children, Education and Families (CEF) division, ensuring accurate reporting to support key decisions at the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and across the directorate. The post holder will extract data from existing systems and use this to track performance and to inform business and service reports, for informed decision-making. The role will require driving continuous improvement in data quality and processes across CEF, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and key reporting oversight for senior leaders and operational leads. To advise and train for optimum use of existing management information systems to ensure that data is clean usable and meaningful.
We are looking for someone with good skills in reporting tools or equivalent, such as SSRS, SQL, Power Bi, and education management information systems. The role holder should also show competency in the manipulation and reporting of data and information. This is a great opportunity to play a significant role in a team with a varied workload and regular communications and presentation to managers and senior leaders.
