We are seeking a skilled Data Privacy Consultant to support our clients growing data function, with a focus on Microsoft services adoption, data governance, and privacy risk management. This role is critical in helping us understand how data flows through our systems, assess privacy risks, and ensure compliance with GDPR and ICO guidelines.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams to deliver strategic privacy assessments, support knowledge sharing, and help build a strong foundation for data governance across Microsoft platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support DPIAs, ROPA assessments, and privacy risk evaluations across Microsoft services.
  • Advise on data transfers, sensitive data usage, and privacy implications of Microsoft tools (e.g., Teams, SharePoint).
  • Collaborate with IT and data teams to understand how data is being used and where risks may arise.
  • Ensure alignment with ICO guidelines, GDPR, and internal data governance policies.
  • Build a documented repository of risk assessments and privacy recommendations.
  • Share knowledge and upskill internal consultants, retaining expertise in-house.
  • Provide strategic input into Microsoft services adoption and data governance practices.
  • Ask the right questions to extract insights from non-technical team members and drive clarity.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in data privacy consulting, ideally within financial services or regulated environments.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft technologies and their data handling capabilities.
  • Familiarity with GDPR, ICO guidelines, and privacy risk frameworks.
  • Experience with data governance, risk transfer, and privacy compliance.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality outcomes quickly.
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid environment, with flexibility to attend HQ and other sites as needed within West Yorkshire.
  • Bonus: Knowledge of FCA regulations and financial services data practices.
