As part of this transformation, we are hiring a Data Product Owner to play a critical role in migrating our reporting ecosystem from on-premise to the cloud. This role will work at the heart of our migration programme, ensuring BI requirements are fully embedded in the delivery process and technical solutions meet the highest standards.

What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will take ownership of BI-related deliverables within our migration projects—working closely with data engineers, developers, and analysts to ensure that reporting assets are successfully transitioned, optimised, and future-proofed in the cloud environment.

• Migration Leadership – Own the BI involvement of our reporting migration from on-premise platforms to Azure/Fabric, ensuring no loss of functionality and delivering enhanced reporting capabilities.
• Functional Scoping – Translate stakeholder needs into detailed functional documentation and collaborate with technical teams to validate BI schema design, measure calculations, and reporting logic.
• Documentation & Governance – Maintain meticulous records of data definitions, design decisions, and metric calculations. Keep data dictionaries and documentation up to date.
• Quality Assurance – Support UAT for migrated reports, validating both data accuracy and alignment with business requirements.
• Semantic Layer Alignment – Map legacy Power BI models into a centralised, cloud-based semantic layer.
• Reporting Optimisation – Rationalise and enhance existing BI products to improve adoption, performance, and usability.
• Agile Delivery – Manage Jira backlogs, support sprint planning, and ensure clear communication between technical and business teams.
• Stakeholder Engagement – Run discovery workshops, progress reviews, and demos to keep stakeholders aligned.

What We’re Looking For

Proven Migration Experience – Direct experience in migrating reporting/BI assets from on-premise to cloud (ideally Azure/Fabric).

BI & Data Modelling Skills – Familiarity with Power BI, semantic models, star schemas, and data warehouse design principles.

Documentation Excellence – A passion for producing high-quality documentation with exceptional attention to detail.

Technical Acumen – Ability to critique BI schema design, validate calculations, and write basic SQL.

Strong Communication Skills – Ability to translate complex technical changes into clear, business-friendly explanations.

Product Ownership Mindset – Comfortable managing backlogs, prioritising work, and driving delivery in an Agile environment.

Collaborative Approach – Experience working closely with engineers, developers, and analysts to deliver cross-functional outcomes.
