Job Description

At Legal & General, we believe that data protection is more than just compliance—it’s about trust, integrity, and empowering our people to do the right thing. We’re looking for a proactive and collaborative Data Protection Manager to join our Asset Management Data team. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape and lead data privacy initiatives in a dynamic and supportive environment.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Managing subject access requests, RFP responses and other business-as-usual activities
  • Overseeing change initiatives with a focus on GDPR compliance and risk assessment
  • Engaging with new suppliers and ensuring completion of GDPR documentation
  • Collaborating with offshore teams and guiding privacy-related activities
  • Maintaining and updating data protection policies and procedures
  • Conducting audits and assessments to identify and mitigate data risks
  • Delivering training and guidance on data protection best practices
  • Monitoring industry trends and advising on policy and process updates

Qualifications

Who we’re looking for:

  • Bringing professional certification in data protection (e.g. CIPP, CIPM, CIPT) or a willingness to obtain one
  • Demonstrating experience with OneTrust or similar data privacy platforms
  • Possessing strong knowledge of GDPR and other relevant regulations
  • Communicating clearly and confidently with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Thriving in both independent and team-based working environments
  • Showing a structured, problem-solving mindset with commercial awareness
  • Being passionate about data privacy and motivated to drive positive change
