Your Role And Responsibilities
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist with a minimum of 4 years of professional experience. The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in statistics, machine learning, and data analysis, with proven experience in the public sector or a government agency.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of data-driven solutions that address complex challenges faced by the public sector.
- Design, develop, and maintain predictive models, statistical analyses, and machine learning algorithms to extract insights from large, complex datasets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into data solutions.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover patterns and trends that inform strategic decision-making.
- Develop and implement data visualization techniques to effectively communicate insights to diverse audiences.
- Stay current with advancements in data science, machine learning, and AI, integrating new methodologies and tools as appropriate.
- Ensure all data handling practices comply with relevant data privacy laws and government regulations.
- Mentor junior data scientists, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning.

Required Technical And Professional Expertise
- Master's degree or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience as a Data Scientist, with a solid background in the public sector or government agency (GDS).
- Expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning techniques, and data mining.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, and tools like Jupyter Notebooks, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
- Experience with big data platforms (Hadoop, Spark) and cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with the capacity to work with large, complex datasets.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and persuasively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Understanding of government data privacy policies and regulations is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently on projects, managing time effectively and meeting tight deadlines.
