THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a highly skilled
Database System Engineer with a strong background in Software and Data Engineering to join our team in Stevenage. This role involves producing and setting interfaces, defining software documentation, and performing technical data processing for spacecraft systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and establish interfaces for data management systems
- Produce and Maintain ICDs for data management systems
- Collaborate with system engineers to ensure seamless integration and functionality
- Optimise interfaces for performance and reliability in spacecraft operations
- Create comprehensive software documentation for data access procedures
- Develop detailed step-by-step guides to facilitate user understanding and implementation
- Maintain documentation updates to reflect changes and improvements in the systems
- Verify the correctness and integrity of data used in spacecraft system engineering
- Perform system configurations, utilising system engineering skills to optimise performance and accuracy.
Skills Required
- Strong understanding of system engineering principles and practices
- Developing use cases, prepare test readiness and delivering test reports
- Experience in communications protocols (1553, CANbus, ECSS) and Space procedures (telemetry and telecommands)
- Ability to design, process, and simulate information for software interaction
- Proficiency and understanding software - JAVA
- Experience in creating and managing software documentation
- Database engineering tools (MongoDB, SQL)
Experience Required
- Expertise in technical data processing and ensuring data correctness
- Skills in configuring system engineering tasks within functional avionics
- Familiarity with data governance and process design
- Understanding of data governance principles
- Proficient in process design to ensure efficient and effective data management
