About the Role:

KPMG is undertaking a major transformation project in our London based datacentres. This role requires a highly motivated and skilled Datacentre Engineer to be a key contributor focusing on project delivery activities. You will be responsible for all project related activities in the datacentres, collaborating with project managers, operational support teams, telco providers and other vendors. The role will require flexible travel between the four datacentres during business hours, with minimal weekday out of hours work scheduled, however, there will be a demand for weekend work for upcoming critical application migration activities.

Required Skillset and Experience:

• Cabling and Patch Management: Proficiently manage fibre, copper and power cabling, including installation, termination, testing, and meticulous patch management.
• Server Hardware: HPE and Dell hardware experience, namely server racking, un-racking, packaging and shipping whilst adhering to industry best practices and safety standards.
• Vendor Collaboration: On site presence for telco providers and other vendors to coordinate installations, changes and ensure timely resolution of any service disruptions.
• Project BAU Support: Provide support to the BAU support team with solid networking fundamentals and troubleshooting for incident resolution, change management and routine maintenance tasks if required.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of datacentre infrastructure, rack diagrams, server and network configurations, and procedures.
• Adherence to Standards: Ensure compliance with all relevant datacentre standards, policies, and procedures, including cybersecurity standards and disaster recovery processes.
• Experience: Proven experience as a Datacentre Engineer or similar role.

Desired Skillset and Experience:

• Familiarity with virtualisation systems such as Hyper-V and VMWare.
• Dell NAS file server and storage experience.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools such as OneView and SCOM.
• Experience working in Equinix facilities and using the Equinix portal.
