The post holder will lead on decontamination training across Endoscopy City, QMC, and Treatment Centre for decontamination staff groups and any other clinical staff who are required to be trained in decontamination as part of their role. They will also lead on general training for decontamination staff, including mandatory training and medical devices, to ensure the Trust and Division meet targets relating to learning and development. They will work as part of the Endoscopy Clinical Education team and the Decontamination team to ensure that all decontamination training standards are met and all staff are performing to the required health and safety standards.
They will work across all three endoscopy sites. Flexible working will be considered on appointment. The Decontamination CST will spend a minimum of 50% of their time working clinically to train and support staff, this will include delivering practical training and performing competency assessments.
- Lead on decontamination training across all three sites.
- Monitor training levels and and ensure all decontamination staff have their training completed in a timely fashion.
- Support staff in training an development in decontamination.
- Keep records of training for all decontamination staff and other clinical staff who require decontamination training as part of their role.
