Systematic DeFi Trader

Location: London or Zug (other locations: Singapore)

About the Role

We are seeking a Systematic DeFi Trader to design, develop, and run automated trading strategies across decentralised exchanges and blockchain ecosystems. This role sits at the intersection of quantitative trading, blockchain infrastructure, and risk management, with direct ownership over strategy research, implementation, and performance.

You will work with a high-quality trading and engineering platform, broad access to liquidity venues, and an experienced DeFi-focused team. The role covers liquidity provision, principal trading, and passive yield strategies, requiring a strong understanding of both market microstructure and DeFi-specific risks.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain automated trading algorithms for decentralised exchanges across multiple blockchains
Research and implement liquidity provision and other DeFi trading strategies with a focus on robustness and capital efficiency
Identify, model, and manage protocol-level, market, and operational risks unique to DeFi environments

Discover and validate new trading signals and patterns through backtesting and performance analysis

Collaborate closely with quantitative researchers and engineers to build scalable, production-ready trading systems

Monitor market and protocol developments to identify short-term opportunities and inform longer-term strategy

Required Profile

PhD or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Quantitative Finance, or a related technical field
Hands-on experience with DeFi trading strategies, either professionally or through independent trading and research
Strong understanding of decentralised exchanges, protocol mechanics, blockchain fundamentals, and smart contract risk
Excellent analytical and logical reasoning skills
Experience processing and analysing large datasets programmatically
Solid software engineering skills with an emphasis on reliability and performance
