Delivery Manager

About the Role

Put simply, we set the standards by which everything is measured. In doing so, the National Physical Laboratory is helping to combat issues on a global scale such as climate change, curing diseases and the development of cutting-edge communications technology.

As our Delivery Manager you’ll be based in the Materials and Mechanical Metrology Department and working closely across the ‘Advanced Engineering Materials’ and ‘Dimensional Metrology’ groups. You’ll support and work closely with the group’s senior delivery managers with the delivery of measurement services.

What you’ll be doing:

• Liaising with existing customers, new client organisations and future collaborators, in view of maximising the income we receive from them and demonstrating measurable impact for industry whilst building and developing these relationships.
• As the vital link between our customers and technical experts, you’ll also bring about swift conclusions to any delivery issues to ensure we’re doing everything we can to keep our customers more than satisfied.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to make sure work for our customers is delivered on time cost and quality

About You

What you can bring to the role:

• Experience in stakeholder communication - comfortable engaging and communicating with stakeholders, both internally and externally
• A background in delivery management
• A passion for the science as you’ll be having conversations with technical and commercial people who’ll expect you to understand their needs and provide a suitable solution that works for them

We would also welcome the following experience and skills:

• Resource Planning
• Experience with Finance Systems
• Commercial Services Management
• Knowledge of Quality and Health and Safety
