Job Title: Demand planning Specialist
Location: – Samlesbury – Mon-Fri – 4 days working in the office
Salary: £54,793 + Dependant upon skills and experience
What You’ll Be Doing
- Support the implementation of robust processes for S&OP (sales and operations planning), Demand Management, and MPS within the manufacturing business
- Provide training, guidance, and best practice recommendations to manufacturing teams responsible for executing demand-side activities
- Continuously improve and refine processes based on performance data, feedback from manufacturing, and evolving business requirements.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for demand-side processes and their application within the ERP system
- Work closely with the supply-side specialist, ensuring alignment between demand side outputs and supply planning processes
- Act as a liaison between IOM, demand management, orderbook planning and manufacturing operations, to ensure integrated planning in ERP systems
- Leverage ERP system expertise (Infor LN 10.4 or similar) to ensure accurate data management, process integration, and reporting
- Utilise MRPII principles to support the strategic alignment of demand and operational execution
Essential
Your skills and experiences:
- Stem Degree education equivalent or APICS (CPIM) qualified / working toward
- End to end production planning experience using MRP systems within a Manufacturing environment Hold professional accreditation and qualification from a recognised
- Logistics/Supply Chain institution at the appropriate level, or be willing to work towards it e.g. for grade F positions this means having a level 4 qualification such as CSCA or ASCM certificate and CILT Membership at Member level
- Experience implementing Production Planning processes within a manufacturing environment
- Proven expertise in ERP systems
Desirable
- Experience with Infor LN, oracle or SAP
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and analytical tools

The Production, Planning and Control Team
The Demand Specialist position is responsible for optimising and supporting the processes related to Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), Demand Management, and Master Production Scheduling (MPS). Acting as the demand-side expert within the production planning and control (PP&C) function, you will liaise closely with manufacturing teams who execute these processes. You will also collaborate extensively with a counterpart who specialises in supply-side activities such as RCCP, CRP, and MRP planning.
