To contribute to the provision of health care to the people of Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTMUHB) with the responsibility for the assessment of care needs and the delivery and evaluation of skilled professional care to the patient in the peri-operative care environment.
The Post Holder Will Be Expected To
- Act as a credible and professional role model.
- Provide leadership, guidance, advice and liaison to the multi-disciplinary team.
- Provide a conducive learning environment for students and registered staff.
- Encourage and empower staff to develop both personally and professionally.
- Provide the highest level of clinical expertise within the peri-operative care environment.
- Support the Clinical Lead in the day-to-day management of a team of staff providing services in the perioperative care environment and satellite services.
- Manage the department as required.
- Maintain and develop professional standards.
This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn’t mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn’t ‘fluency’, just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.
The Post Holder Will
- Provide an authoritative and credible source of knowledge, specialist clinical and leadership skills.
- Establish focus and direction for the clinical team ensuring that all staff understand their role and are given guidance and support to fulfil them.
- Create a working environment that nurture collegiate and collaborative working relationships with others in order to support and maintain staff morale.
- Provide specialist advice to the multidisciplinary team when required.
- Support the Clinical Lead in developing a working environment that encourages flexible, innovative, and creative working practices, to maximize operating theatre utilisation.
- Keep abreast of professional issues and current research-based practice and ensure these are reflected in practice by all staff in the team.
