Stanton House is exclusively recruiting a Management Accountant for a London-based organisation on a 12-month fixed-term contract, offering hybrid working.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Management Accountant to take ownership of month-end reporting and balance sheet control across the group. The role involves delivering accurate management accounts, ensuring robust balance sheet reconciliations, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. The successful candidate will ideally come from a software or project-based environment and have experience dealing with large B2B contracts.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, and journals.
Own and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all balances are fully supported, reviewed, and cleared on a timely basis.
Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely posting of transactions.
Perform manual and automated bank reconciliations, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
Manage revenue recognition, including reviewing contract terms, assessing revenue timing, and posting appropriate accounting entries in line with accounting standards.

Support accounting for large B2B and long-term contracts, including deferred revenue, estimates, and judgement-based adjustments.

Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice preparation, review, procurement, and payments.

Update and monitor foreign exchange rates and manage related accounting entries.

Assist with tax-related submissions, including VAT/GST returns and RDEC claims.

Perform monthly payroll reconciliations.

Conduct variance analysis against budget and forecast, providing clear and actionable insights to management.

Assist in budgeting and forecasting, working closely with FP&A and operational stakeholders.

Manage treasury-related activities, including cash flow forecasting and liquidity monitoring.

Support external audits, preparing documentation and responding to audit queries.

Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, internal controls, and accounting policies.

Collaborate with commercial, operational, and finance teams to support business initiatives.

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, controls, and reporting quality.

Key Requirements

Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CPA, or equivalent) — essential.
Proven experience in a Management Accountant or Financial Accountant role.
Strong ownership of balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and month-end close.
Demonstrated experience with revenue recognition, ideally within a software, SaaS, or large B2B contract environment.
Solid technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail.
Advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills; Workday experience is advantageous.
Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work to tight deadlines in fast-paced environments.
Strong communication skills with confidence engaging stakeholders across the business.
