About The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Feltham Locality Team as a Deputy Team Manager. There are 4 Locality Teams, Locality Teams support adults with physical and/or sensory impairment, also adults with mental health diagnosis where their primary need is a physical health need.

You will support Social Workers and Social Work Assistants in their role; providing supervision, quality assuring assessments and managing complex duty enquiries.

There is a focus on preventative services in Hounslow, looking to build resilience in communities and develop a stronger community for our residents.

You will act in the role of the Safeguarding Adults Manager, leading on safeguarding enquiries to ensure the safety of our residents whilst balancing risk and making safeguarding personal.

You will be supported by a strong management team.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will have a crucial role in delivering excellent outcomes for our residents and keeping them safe. You will have close management over Safeguarding Enquiries and act as the Safeguarding Adults Manager in section 42 safeguarding enquiries.
  • You must have a good understanding of preventative work, enabling staff to employ a strength-based approach to their work and intervention with residents.
  • You will supervise staff, ensuring high performance standards in the team and encourage staff development.
  • You will demonstrate a collaborative leadership style and work with others to encourage self-development and resilience to social work intervention.

About The Team You’ll Be Working In

The team consists of a Team Manager, Deputy Team Manager, Social Workers and Social Work Assistants. Staff carry out Care Act assessments, assisting residents and carers to identify their needs and desired outcomes. Helping residents/carers to formulate a Care Plan/Support Plan and, where indicated, to use their Personal Budget to set up individually tailored services to achieve desired outcomes.

Key is protecting the Human Rights of our residents and carers as much as working with them to promote their safety in line with the Council’s and the London multi-agency Adult Safeguarding Policy. You will be instrumental in formulating protection plans and supporting safeguarding enquiries.

We work collaboratively with key stakeholders, care providers, housing, financial services, health, the volunteer sector and religious institutions to name a few. With due regard for Equality Diversity of our residents, partners and colleagues.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified social worker, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience
  • SW England registration
