UL UEC is looking for a Deputy Treasurer. This job is grade 20.
Based at our Paddington site location you’ll be responsible for managing:
- Annual foreign exchange turnover of c£4 billion
- Urenco’s cash, c€1.3 billion and debt €1.1 billion,
- The Group’s nuclear decommissioning trusts, in the US, established in 2022 ($600 million) and the Netherlands.
The company is embarking on a multi-billion Euro capital programme to increase enrichment capacity on its four production sites. This will require financing, including through more capital markets debt issues.
There is increased focus on investments and the return on cash including investments in decommissioning funds. A Financial Investments Committee of Board members has been set up. Treasury activities are reported to the Audit Committee of the Board each quarter. Detailed cash forecasts are produced monthly.
What You’ll Do
- Responsible for smooth running of day-to-day Treasury activities, including cash management and currency hedging.
- Establish and maintain top quality treasury controls to SOX standards.
- Clearing banking relationship owner – Barclays.
- Responsible for FX and cash management relationship with the Group’s banks.
- Development of Treasury systems (including FIS Integrity, 360 T).
- Control and review of treasury forecasts to maintain high quality and accuracy and effective financial controls.
- Management of currency exposures and hedging methods.
- Execution of complex transactions and occasional dealing.
- Provision of treasury advice to wider Urenco business as appropriate.
- Maintain long term planning model and business plan input.
- Through familiarity with Group business plan – make recommendations and execute transactions.
- Assist in managing relationship with rating agencies.
- Delivering change and process improvements in Treasury operations.
- Maintaining strong treasury controls and systems.
- Project management of treasury transactions.
- Deputise in Group Treasurers absence.
- Assist Group Treasurer with technical projects.
- Assist Group Treasurer with managing bank relationships.
What do you need to thrive in this role?
- Strong experience in Treasury cash and currency forecasting.
- Experience and expertise of Treasury Systems – Integrity or similar, experience of SAP an advantage.
- Experience of assisting the managing bank relationships and of working on complex transactions.
- Communications skills.
- Experience of project management in a Treasury context.
- Managing internal and external relationships.
- Strong treasury systems experience.
- Experience of foreign currency exposure management.
- Experience of capital markets and financing an advantage.
