An exciting, developmental opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Ward Manager to join Tegid Ward in Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor, Gwynedd, North Wales.
Main duties of the job
Tegid Ward is a busy 30 bedded ward which specialises in General surgery. The nursing team is proactive and innovative with a wealth of knowledge in this specialized field.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our busy and dynamic nursing team. This is a demanding role that requires commitment and a positive leadership approach towards change. You will have excellent communication skills and high clinical standards with a passion to make a difference for patients and staff alike. Managing and controlling the activities of the ward in an effective and efficient manner.
All applicants are expected to keep with new initiatives and interventions within nursing care. The Deputy Ward Manager is expected to continue the running of the ward in the absence of the ward manager. Providing support with staff appraisals, sickness and training support.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

- RGN with experience at band 5 level
- NMC with experience in surgical circumcision.

- Evidence of degree or working towards
Knowledge And Experience

- Has Good clinical knowledge of acute setting
- Clear understanding of governance issues
Desirable criteria
- Extended skills such as phlebotmomy and cannulation
- Evidence of carrying out audit
- Evidence of staff management - off duty / sickness and absence
