The Role:

We are seeking a skilled Design and Estimator (D&E) to join the team. This pivotal role involves working closely with the Sales team and clients to produce detailed, accurate, and costed design quotations. The successful candidate will handle projects ranging from single-site service deliveries to complex, multi-site, phased programs. You will ensure all designs meet regulatory, industry, and manufacturer standards, while supporting smooth handovers to Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare fully scoped and costed design quotations for various project sizes.
• Collaborate with prospective clients to develop and present bid proposals.
• Provide timely and comprehensive handovers to the Operations team, including design, material, and labour cost details.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry, regulatory, regional standards, and manufacturer guidelines.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with leading manufacturers and distributors to stay at the forefront of emerging technologies.
• Utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Projects) effectively.
• Attend client meetings and conduct occasional site visits as required.
• Work within a collaborative team environment with opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Demonstrated knowledge of copper and fibre installation systems.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to multitask.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Projects.
• Experience using design software such as AutoCAD and Adobe.
• Proven experience in design and cost estimation, ideally within telecoms or electrical sectors.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills to ensure accurate cost estimation.
• Attention to detail with a focus on design quality and cost efficiency.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
