CDAE Design Engineer – HVDC Substations

Outside IR35 | 18-month contract

We’re supporting a UK-based client delivering major HVDC substation projects and are looking for an experienced CDAE-certified Design Engineer to join on a long-term contract.

This is a high-profile role offering flexibility, autonomy, and involvement in complex power transmission projects.

The Role

Act as a CDAE-approved Design Engineer supporting HVDC substation projects
Provide technical input, review, and assurance across design activities
Collaborate with project stakeholders and the wider engineering team
Attend occasional client and project meetings as required

Essential Skills & Experience

CDAE-certified
Strong HVDC and substation experience
Proven experience in power transmission / utilities projects
Comfortable operating in a senior technical capacity

Contract Details

Start: ASAP
Duration: 18 months
IR35:

Outside

Rate: Negotiable DOE

Location: Largely remote, with occasional client/office attendance
