Design Engineer (Mobile/Frontend) — Early-Stage FinTech, London, Remote, Up to a £110k base

I’m supporting a fast-growing startup in the consumer finance space that’s building a new kind of credit experience. They’re small, ambitious, and looking for someone who’s excited about owning big pieces of product from day one.

The team is looking for a Design Engineer who can help shape their mobile app and overall user experience. If you enjoy working closely with design, turning complex flows into something incredibly simple for users, and being part of a product still early in its journey, this could be a great fit.

What you’ll be working on:

Taking the lead on their React Native app across iOS and Android
Building and integrating with backend APIs
Setting up CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and general production-ready infrastructure
Handling sensitive data securely (auth, KYC/AML)
Improving app performance and reliability
Collaborating closely with design and product to create a polished, user-first experience
Jumping into other parts of the stack when needed

What they’re looking for:

Startup experience is important — someone comfortable owning problems end-to-end
Strong background in React Native & React
Experience with consumer-facing products
Familiarity with BFF patterns and Node.js APIs
Comfortable shipping to the App Store / Google Play
Production experience at scale
Good debugging habits and attention to detail

Nice bonuses:

Native mobile (Swift/Kotlin)
Any exposure to Web3 or on-chain interactions
A strong design/UX sense
