Design & Technology Teacher

3 days a week, Fixed-Term initially until the end of August 2027 - to start ASAP

Based at St David’s Centre (Hereford)

Salary: M1 to M6 (£19,750 to £27,211 0.6) – Early career teachers welcome

Unqualified Teachers SP1 to SP6 (£13,560 to £21,155 0.6)

Role Responsibilities Include

• Delivering engaging, practical lessons within our fully equipped workshop.
• Preparing lesson materials and providing resources to support learning.
• Providing feedback on student work, evidencing progress and achievement.
• Embedding literacy, numeracy and core employability skills within your teaching.
• Maintaining accurate records to track/report on student progress.
• Supervising learners, ensuring compliance with health and safety and safeguarding procedures.
• Supporting students pastorally, promoting welfare, motivation and engagement.
• Participating in the wider school activities aligned with HPRS’s ethos and values. HPRS offers a secure and inclusive learning environment designed to foster independence and self-confidence in its students. Supported by a dedicated Management Committee and a highly skilled staff team, the service provides specialized education for pupils who require an alternative to mainstream education. You will be joining a team which works hard to create a positive and caring community that puts children at the heart of everything we do. Candidates will need to be patient and understanding of difficulties that can be experienced by our pupils and have excellent communication skills.

The ideal candidate will be appropriately qualified and show evidence of professional development relevant to Design Technology (carpentry, brickwork, plumbing, electrical installation, etc.).
