Description

My client is looking for a mid–senior Desktop Support Engineer to join a fast-paced technology team supporting a demanding user base in a high-performance environment.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working close to the business, taking ownership of issues end-to-end, and contributing beyond pure support. The role offers exposure to a broad range of technologies and the opportunity to be involved in project work alongside core systems and infrastructure teams.

Key Responsibilities

Provide high-quality 1st/2nd line desktop and end-user support
Support Windows 10/11 and the Microsoft 365 suite (Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, OneDrive)
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues
Support financial and market data applications (e.g., Bloomberg)
Perform desk setups, workstation builds, and hardware break/fix
Work closely with infrastructure and systems teams on upgrades and projects
Contribute to documentation, process improvement, and automation initiatives

Required Experience & Skills

4–12 years of relevant desktop / end-user support experience

Experience in fast-paced environments; financial services experience preferred but not essential

Strong Windows desktop support experience and Microsoft stack knowledge

Excellent troubleshooting skills across hardware, OS, and applications

Comfortable working in smaller, agile teams with a high degree of responsibility

Exposure to PowerShell scripting is advantageous

Basic understanding of TCP/IP and general networking concepts

Strong communication skills and a service-oriented mindset
