Developer

Role:

Canopius is seeking a highly motivated Developer to support the technology roadmap, delivering world class solutions to enable all areas of the business to achieve their strategic and business goals.

This exciting role is working within a small growing team of developers w orking in a flexible and iterative software delivery function – allowing us to respond quickly and innovatively to internal user requirements and therefore providing external market advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Delivers design, coding, and testing, processes related to new software development.
• Participates across all stages of the software development lifecycle, including initial analysis, design, implementation, build, integration, testing, deployment, debugging and support.
• Collaborates with agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in full-stack development tools and technologies.
• Drives ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems and platforms.
• Develops, maintains, enhances, and tests application frameworks of moderate to high complexity.
• Follows software engineering project schedules, maintains project parameters and tasks and monitors project tasks.
• Interprets and analyses requirements for integration and/or testability issues.

Skills & Experience:

• Solid understanding of .NET, .NET Core and C#.
• Familiarity with Object Orientated programming concepts e.g. SOLID, and software design patterns.
• Solid understanding of consuming API technologies with knowledge of RESTful services.
• Relevant experience of database design and development (Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL).
• Solid understanding of web development - JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, with libraries/frameworks such as React, Blazor and MVC.
• Knowledge of automated test strategies and unit tests.
• Adherence to coding standards and industry best practice.

Highly Desirable:

• Relevant experience with Azure DevOps, Pipelines, continuous integration and deployment.
• Relevant experience with Azure cloud technologies.
• Relevant experience of analysis, design and implementation of systems and solutions.

• Effective time management with the confidence to communicate issues and delays affecting delivery.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines, manage priorities for the development teams and take responsibility for delivering to time, high-quality outputs.
