We are excited to recruit a 12 month fixed term full-time Band 5 Stroke Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) to work at Darent Valley Hospital in Dartford, on the South-East London/North-West Kent border. We would consider appointing a newly qualified or established Developing Specialist SLT with the required profile and enthusiasm. We are situated near South-East London with good transport links, where an additional 5% high cost of living allowance applies. We pride ourselves in being a friendly, proactive and flexible team.
The post holder will be working alongside Highly Specialist SLT Team Leads, Specialist SLTs and SLT Assistants. There are also well established Outpatient and Macmillan teams, and excellent team administrative support.
The successful applicant will work with stroke inpatients on the Stroke Unit, as a member of the Stroke MDT and the dedicated stroke SLT team. They would provide specialist SLT management for both the acute and rehabilitation stages of stroke patients’ treatment. The post holder will work towards becoming independent in the assessment and treatment of a wide range of swallowing and communication disorders. Experience with inpatient work and particularly dysphagia is desirable.
