Contract Type: Fixed term contract until July 2026

Working Hours: 30 hours per week working between the hours of 7:00am and 3:00pm (term time only)

Salary: Grade E – £27,711 - £30,060 per annum (pro-rata for part-time)

Worker Type: On-site worker

Location: Various sites across Nottingham City, Mansfield and Derby areas, must be willing to travel – own vehicle required, and limited business use insurance is essential.

About The Role

  • Inspire and develop our catering teams to deliver exceptional food and service.
  • Work alongside our management team to ensure all kitchens run to a high standard. Conduct audits and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Design and implement fresh, seasonal menus, working alongside the food development officer, to ensure that we meet School Food Standards and Food for Life criteria.
  • Collaborate with schools, pupils, and staff to create bespoke menus that reflect local tastes and needs.
  • Shining a spotlight on our school meal offer by attending school events to promote our menus and food through taster sessions and demonstrations.
  • Support and upskill our school cooks, helping them grow their craft and confidence.
  • Drive continuous improvement across our schools and commercial catering operations, serving over 2 million meals a year.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Have a background in high-standard catering with a passion for fresh, wholesome food.
  • Possess strong culinary skills, creativity, and an eye for detail.
  • Be a natural leader who thrives on collaboration, innovation, and making a difference.
  • Be someone who’s excited to bring the latest food trends and flavours into school kitchens.

A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.
