Our team is looking for a new DevOps Engineer who will be a member of our Azure applications team. The integration platform provides the glue between a combination of SaaS and inhouse services to ensure data flow and communication occurs correctly, producing the desired experience for our users. The DevOps Engineer will bring senior technical leadership to the team as we move to Azure and optimise our estate. Work will be split into following directions: security improvement, applications and data platform infrastructure, Azure cloud engineering. The role reports to the Engineering Manager and work closely with Cloud Architect.
Responsibilities
- Monitor system health and reliability to improve & support business process requirements.
- Ensure cloud-based infrastructure is secure and efficient.
- Manage, configure and automate systems and services in Azure.
- Deploy product updates, identify production issues and implement integrations.
- Own and drive improvement on Mean-Time-To-Repair and Mean-Time-Between-Incidents uptime.
- Perform deep-dive analysis for all major incidents, coordinating with support and Infrastructure teams to identify root cause in both application and infrastructure.
- Tackle complex technological infrastructure and security, ensure it is compliant and meets ISO 27001 specification
- Embrace FinOps and define the appropriate profile for our estate
- Educate and mentor engineering team members on Azure services and SRE/DevOps best practices.
Key Skills and Experience
- Previous experience working with cloud technologies, Azure products and services.
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure setup and management for high-scale and secure web applications.
- Experience using IaC Terraform and DevOps tools.
- Experience with modern CI/CD tools for delivery and automation.
- Capable of performing technical deep-dives into code and architecture.
- Familiarity with any of the well-known DevSecOps frameworks.
- You understand the importance of using metrics to influence product and technical decisions.
- You are an advocate for modern DevOps/SRE tools, best practices and culture.
- Systematic problem solving approach, coupled with a strong sense of responsibility and drive.
