About The Role
This role is hybrid and based at our Head Office in Barton-Upon-Humber 2/3 days a week.

DevOps Engineers must quickly adapt to a fast-paced, rewarding environment, handling routine tasks like patching and capacity planning, as well as leading projects across various business areas.
Main responsibilities:
- Own and maintain tools, processes, and infrastructure for deploying bespoke applications via Kubernetes and ArgoCD.
- Operate and enhance GitOps pipelines with ArgoCD for declarative, version-controlled deployments.
- Ensure full observability of all systems, including Kubernetes workloads.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to improve automation and service resilience.
- Manage and optimize Helm charts, service configs, and cluster resources.
- Promote best practices in GitOps, container orchestration, and operational excellence.
- Maintain technical documentation for Kubernetes, ArgoCD workflows, and supporting systems.
- Participate in incident and problem management, including out-of-hours support.
- Implement Kubernetes security best practices to protect against cybersecurity threats.
- Design and build tools, services, and processes to meet evolving platform needs.
- Lead infrastructure projects, including onboarding new workloads into Kubernetes.
- Partner with development teams to ensure CI/CD workflows are secure, automated, and observable.

About You
Required skills and knowledge:
- Strong communicator with a customer-focused, collaborative approach.
- Expert in Unix/Linux with hands-on Kubernetes (EKS preferred) experience managing large-scale production workloads.
- Skilled in GitOps, especially ArgoCD, and declarative infrastructure practices.
- Experienced in containerized app management, Helm chart development, and distributed system support.
- Action-oriented and detail-driven, with a persistent approach to delivering high-quality solutions.
- Proficient in PHP, Python, and JavaScript.
- Proven ability to drive architectural improvements with minimal disruption, using data-driven problem-solving.
- Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployment tools like Jenkins and ArgoCD.
- Holds one or more AWS associate-level certifications.
Desired Skills And Knowledge
- In-depth problem analysis and root cause investigation capabilities.
- Experience with persistent and transient storage technologies such as MySQL, Redis, and Elasticsearch.
- Proficient with infrastructure as code (IaC) practices using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes-native security tools and admission control policies
