Main duties of the job

The Hepatology Department at UHS are pleased to be able to offer a 12 month placement within the Hepatology Team .

In this role you will support patients to use My Medical Record enabling patients to participate in their own care . You will work alongside another digital support worker and be an active member of the Hepatology Team . You will manage and maintain data working independently within a scope of practice. .

Qualifications / Training Required

Essential criteria

  • NVQ or apprenticeship Level 3 in Health or equivalent experience
  • Numeracy skills and Literacy skills at level 2 (or equivalent).

Desirable criteria

  • Keyboard skills
  • IT literate
  • Proficient in use of Hospital systems
  • Experienced and competent in additional clinical skills, as per job description.

Previous or relevant experience necessary

Essential criteria

  • Proven experience in a caring role.
  • Previous experience of working with the general public.
  • Experience of using a computer.
  • Understanding of acute hospital environment and the role of SHCA.

Desirable criteria

  • Previous HCA experience.
  • Experience working with diverse audiences (eg. volunteers, patients and/or community groups).

Aptitudes And Skills Required

Essential criteria

  • Ability to communicate with wide range of people.
  • Ability to work as a team member.
  • Ability to work under own initiative and prioritise workload
  • Ability to adjust to pressures of job.
