Digital Content Executive

Purpose of the role:

Working within Excel London’s Marketing and Communications team and reporting to the PR & Communications Manager, you will play a crucial role in enhancing Excel’s reputation and global impact through content creation and overseeing its social media and digital channels. This will include helping to plan, shape and deliver its external and internal content strategy with the aim of driving brand awareness, audience engagement and supporting the overall requirements of the business.

Working within a small team, this is a new position due to the growth of the venue’s digital output and ongoing needs for bespoke, original content. This role will also involve some work on the venue’s new Immerse LDN social media channels (www.immerseldn.com ), providing community management across all platforms, as well as giving general support across the wider marketing and communications team.

Key responsibilities:

• Working with the strategy set by the PR & Communications Manager and to brand guidelines, to create (capture/film) and edit a range of content for social media and digital platforms.
• To run, as a community manager, all the venue’s social media platforms including responding to DMs and customer queries (whilst maintaining a consistent brand voice), replying and engaging with audience posts, scheduling and posting content (both during and outside working hours if required) and drafting the post copy.
• Evaluate the success of social media content against agreed metrics and use these insights to improve performance.
• To be aware of current trends and to proactively suggest ideas to the team.
• Support the commercial departments to create compelling, bespoke content to support their outreach.
• Work with the HR team to help plan and create internal content including videos.
• Support with content and assets for various marketing campaigns.
• Brief and manage external photographers and video agencies as and when required.
• Provide administrative/general support to ensure the smooth running of the of the communications & marketing departments.

Skills & knowledge:

Essential:

• Previous experience in a similar role and solid working knowledge of a busy communications team.
• Experience creating, filming, managing, editing and organising digital content and therefore knowledge and confidence using video editing software i.e. Adobe Premiere Pro or similar.
• Experience managing multiple social media channels and knowledge of each platform, its content formats and trends.
• Excellent copywriting skills with a strong command of the English language.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions and experience using google analytics and social media analytics.
• Be highly organised with attention to detail.
• Be enthusiastic and versatile and be able to build, develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders.
• Keen eye for design and a commitment to high-quality visuals.
• Confident in using email platforms, SharePoint, website CMS and other digital and internal social media channels.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment, with excellent multi-tasking skills.

Desirable:

• Experience of the events industry
• Knowledge of key Adobe programmes (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign etc), along with Viva Engage
• Knowledge and confidence using PowerPoint
•  A willingness to work outside of normal working hours at times and to go the extra mile
• Knowledge and experience using AI tools

This individual will have experience of curating compelling video and audio content tailored for each channel and understands the audience needs of each of these, together with knowing the latest trends. They should also be at ease collaborating with fellow Excel colleagues, event organisers and other stakeholders.
