About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a talented Digital Content Lead to join our team and help grow our digital presence as Manchester Building Society.
Following our merger with Manchester Building Society in 2023, we are delighted to be returning to the high street in Manchester in 2025! We’re proud to bring mutual savings, mortgages, and financial advice to our communities, and now we’re ready to take our storytelling and content creation to the next level.
This is a chance to shape and deliver dynamic digital content that reflects our purpose, engages our audiences, and amplifies our impact in the communities we serve – both online and on our high streets.
As part of Newcastle Building Society Group, we’re building on a proud mutual legacy. Whether it’s financial guidance, community events, or local stories, your content will bring our brands to life and showcase our values with clarity and heart.
You’ll plan and produce engaging content across web and social media, building our digital presence. You’ll work closely with local community groups, gather insights from across the business, and champion consistency in tone and brand storytelling. From supporting high-profile campaigns with social content to keeping our website up to date, your role will be central to how we speak and connect online.
This is a Hybrid role where you can typically expect to work from home 3 days' per week.
About You
You’re a storyteller at heart, with a keen eye for crafting content that’s both engaging and strategically sound. You understand the power of tone, timing and tailoring, whether you're writing copy that resonates across digital channels or shaping campaign messaging that connects on a human level. Your creativity is backed by experience managing large social media accounts, editing video content with impact, and drawing insights from data to refine and improve what you create.
Comfortable with CMS platforms and aware of accessibility best practices, you approach digital work with both precision and empathy. You’re curious about community life and eager to reflect its vibrancy online. That means stepping into local conversations, spotting opportunities for meaningful engagement, and helping voices within the organisation shine. You’re proactive, collaborative and always hungry to learn – ready to explore new formats, respond to trends, and push your craft in service of both commercial goals and social connection.
You know Manchester like the back of your hand – understanding that Wigan, Rochdale, Bury, Oldham, Tameside, Trafford, Bolton, Stockport, Salford and Greater Manchester are diverse, complex and different in their own ways, yet bound together, not just by geography, but by shared values.
