Our apprenticeship
Join our team as a Digital Engineering Apprentice in our central Digital Project Solutions team and have direct impact from day one on multimillion pound projects. As a Higher Apprentice at BAM you will be a full-time, permanent employee, from day one. With support from an experienced team, dedicated mentor and structured learning, you’ll gain hands-on experience and very quickly become a crucial member of the team.
Alongside your work you will complete a Level 4 Construction Design and Build Technician Apprenticeship (including HNC) , you will then be given the opportunity to progress onto a degree apprenticeship.

What will you be doing?
The role will focus on supporting the adoption of selected digital construction tools to improve efficiency and communication to achieve the best for project outcomes. As an apprentice you will be placed in a supportive environment to receive training and guidance from an experienced digital team in the workplace and an innovative training partner in the virtual classroom.
You will be assigned a mentor who can provide the ‘on the job’ support and guidance as you develop into the role. You will learn to;
- Assist in the provision of accurate and clear model information for collaboration purposes, 4D planning and 5D cost estimation and management.
- Support the use of digital site data capture systems in accordance with the project specification and in compliance with BAM procedures.
- Provide training and technical support in the use of technology to site teams.
- Collect, manage, and interpret project data to improve decision making
- Help implement digital workflows and smart construction methods
- Upskill other stakeholders in the business with processes and data interpretation
- Develop an awareness of the ISO19650 suite, and BAM’s internal standards, procedures and processes, and their role in the project and asset lifecycle.
- Stay abreast of industry developments identifying new innovative technologies that could add value to existing workflows such as AR or scanning technologies or new automations.
What You'll Need
Academic requirements
Essential
- 5 GCSE's including;
- GCSE grade 4 (C) or above in Maths
- GCSE grade 4 (C) or above in English Language
- 3 additional GCSE’s (or equivalent) grade 4 (C) of above
Plus
- 2 x STEM A-Levels Grade C or above

Additional Requirements
- Due to the project nature of our business, apprentices must be willing to travel and stay away from home necessary
- As some of our projects are in remote areas; we also require all applicants to hold or be working towards gaining a full UK driving licence before September 2025
